Drought Monitor
Precipitation deficits, vegetation, soils and historical comparison.
Published foundations · planned extension
What problem does this address?
A dry period, vegetation stress and an official drought declaration describe different things.
What will the module provide?
Dated drought indicators, precipitation anomalies and vegetation or soil context, with comparable reference periods.
What does TerraScore already have?
Romania and Poland publish selected dated drought indicators; Moldova provides climate and water-balance context. These are not a continuous drought-warning system.
Explore the published foundationWhat is being developed?
No separately verified operational module or active implementation is claimed. This page describes a planned direction.
What comes next?
Align historical baselines and national indicators, assess observation freshness and validate regional interpretation.
Which data sources may contribute?
- CEMS/JRC EDO CDI v4.1.1 · 2026-09-11
Published foundation — consult its sources and coverage · Romania, Poland
- IUNG-PIB / SMSR
Candidate sources — integration requires separate verification · Poland
A source listed as a candidate is not evidence of integration. Follow published results for the exact dataset, period, resolution and limitations.
Who may benefit?
Agronomists, researchers, agricultural organizations and regional authorities.
What remains necessary?
Compatible periods and spatial scales, national validation and clear separation of official indicators from TerraScore analysis.
